Classes general classes meet one day a week.
Monthly cost:  45 min class ..........$40.00 per month
                      1 hour class............$45.00 per month

Private lessons-1/2 hour.................$18.00 per class

Dance Co. classes meet two times a week for 1 1/2 hours
          Dance Company cost......$100 per month


Class Descriptions:

BALLET TECHNIQUE
Ballet embraces strength, balance and agility. The concepts learned at the barre are used in the center through the adagio (lyrical quality, balance), and allegro (jumps, small and big). Students gain strength and flexibility through the execution of the barre exercises and center work in the adagio and allegro sections of the class. Emphasis is on correct anatomical alignment. Vagonnava Technique. 

POINTE 
After sufficient ballet study and proper muscle development, students may be eligible to dance “en pointe" as an addition to the regular Ballet class she is already attending. Pointe is by invitation only. 


JAZZ TECHNIQUE
All exercises stress central strength and control of both large and small muscles groups. With an emphasis on expressiveness through the torso, the isolations of head, shoulders, ribcage and hips are practiced to develop coordination. Along with rhythmic patterns, dynamic variations and qualities of movement the emphasis in Jazz is on the isolation of movement available to the various parts of the body.


TAP TECHNIQUE
This is “a form of dance wherein rhythmical sounds are created by the feet.” Tap develops a sense of rhythm and timing. Exercises to warm and strengthen the ankles, floor combinations stressing precision and counting are included. Foot work begins with simple rhythms and sounds, advances to slightly more complex material. 

CREATIVE MOVEMENT
A special class designed to introduce young children to dance through the love of music and movement using games and exercises designed especially for this class.

HIP HOP
Features a low-impact, high intensity aerobic warm up, strength work (push-ups, abdominal, etc.) funky across the floor work, and center work like those found in music videos. Structure of the class is very similar to Jazz Technique. Hip-Hop is set to a strong, contemporary beat, builds stamina, and emphasizes body isolations, attitude, coordination, free-style movement, and rhythm.

MODERN TECHNIQUE
Focus on proper alignment, use of breath, quality of structural form, oppositional energy, moving through space, directional changes are used during Horton Technique to create a beautiful strong, flexible body with long muscles. Graham Technique may also be incorporated. We will also focus on Contemporary choreography. 

LYRICAL
Lyrical is a combination of jazz & ballet focusing on strength, fluidity, balance, extension and emotion. The choreography uses movement, and expression to convey the meaning of music (the lyrics).

ZUMBA
Zumba is a fusion of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps to the tune of Latin and International music. The routine features aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. 

IRISH STEP DANCE
Today, thanks in part to Riverdance, Irish step-dancing is the most recognizable form of Irish dance. In this style, dancers hold a rigid posture, keep their arms mostly by their sides, and step and kick about for all they're worth. Many Irish dancers maintain that their ancestors developed this rigid-armed style of dancing so that if English people looked in through a window they wouldn't be able to tell that the Irish were dancing. There may be a grain of truth to this, but most dance scholars think that the style was adapted from French dances imported in the eighteenth century
